The Lowcountry provide us with amazing beaches, creeks, and rivers which we are fortunate enough to call our home and backyard. At Get Carried Away, we proud to prioritize our communities and put our home first.
At Get Carried Away we are very passionate about doing everything we can to preserve our beautiful home and the wildlife that we share it with. That’s why we are proud to share what we do and and give you an idea of how you can help us and protect our community. Get Carried Away is the place for everything from participating in beach clean ups to hosting a glass drop site–but NOT the place to find single-use plastics.
Sustainability Initiatives
Thoughtful packing
We prioritize the quality of not only what’s inside our containers, but what’s on the outside. Whether you’re stocking your fridge with dips, placing a to-go order, or grabbing a drink from the cooler…you can Get Carried Away knowing all of our products are either reusable, recyclable, or biodegradable.
DELI CONTAINERS:
- Recyclable, dishwasher and microwave safe. Use as Tupperware!
- Dips packaged in deli containers made out of 100% recycled water bottles
TO-GO BOXES: Recyclable
WATER CUPS, LIDS, PHADE STRAWS:
Every element of our to-go cups are compostable and/or biodegradable.
BEVERAGE COOLER:
Shop our selection of glass and aluminum only beverage options.
GROCERY BAGS:
Carry your favorite items out in our reusable paper bags, or our compostable grocery bags.
Compost and smart recycling
At Get Carried Away we are aware that food waste is a major environmental concern. We have partnered with Smart Recycling to handle all of our compost needs. Our kitchens and staff are diligent at utilizing our compost system and helping reduce our environmental footprint. In May alone we were able to divert just under 1,700 pounds of food waste and compost it into new soil in South Carolina

how can you get involved?
Fisher Glass
Get Carried Away, Mt Pleasant is proud to be a Fisher recycling drop location. On the front side of the building there are marked recycling cans available for you to drop glass Monday-Saturday during business hours. This glass is then picked up 1-2 times weekly, recycled, and given new life all with the state of South Carolina

Check out the calendar below to see how you can get involved! If you’re looking for a beach sweep near you, we will do our best to provide local events and organizations that you can join. Hitting the beach soon? Challenge yourself and friends to pick up 5 pieces of trash before leaving!
